Local 500 Endorses Navarro for County Council

SEIU Local 500 will support Nancy Navarro for Montgomery County Council in the upcoming District 4 Special Election. The Special Election will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009.

"As president of the Montgomery County Board of Education, Nancy was a strong advocate for working families and quality education for all children. She's shown that she values the contributions of all MCPS workers who make Montgomery County schools great," explains Local 500 President Merle Cuttitta. "Local 500 members especially appreciate how proactively she worked with us and the other parties involved to find a workable solution to this year's budget shortfall. We also believe strongly that she has the vision the county needs to keep moving forward."
