Congratulations to our Executive Director, David Rodich, for his 20 years of service with SEIU Local 500 and over 40 years of service with SEIU around the country.

We honor his work and contributions he has made to SEIU and the labor movement. David’s commitment to working people in our region, our country and globally has been an inspiration to us all.

In his years with our union, David Rodich has helped lead and manage Local 500 through an unprecedented period of growth and accomplishment. During his tenure, the Local has doubled in member size and grown from representing just one unit to twenty-eight.  He successfully championed the efforts to form the first adjunct faculty union in SEIU. This bold move blossomed from a local initiative into a national movement of faculty unionization and created a new mode of thinking about the organizing and mobilization of workers. As well as his work with SEIU, for the past 25 years David has also worked with the Solidarity Center of the AFL-CIO, where he has provided strategic guidance and support to independent trade union movements in the emerging democracies of Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia.

In addition to all of his work, David is a devoted and loving family man. He has also been a mentor, a teacher, and friend to hundreds of union staff, members, activists and leaders. He will be greatly missed but his impact will be felt for a very, very long time.

On behalf of SEIU Local 500 Members, Executive Board and Staff, Thank you David!
