Two hundred Johns Hopkins graduate workers held a rally on the campus of Johns Hopkins University on Wednesday, September 26.

“Graduate workers are an integral part of the university and deserve to be recognized as such,” said Jacob Hammer, a graduate student worker in the Physics and Astronomy Department. “That is why we have formed TRU-SEIU Local 500, so that we have a vehicle to advocate for changes that will improve learning conditions for all students.”

The graduate workers are using direct action to improve conditions for their colleagues and for the benefit of the students they teach and important research they perform.

The media covered the event and you can read more at the Baltimore Sun.
