Schedule of Election Events:
August 24, 2026 - Virtual Candidate Q & A - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Election Committee will conduct a Zoom Question-and-answer meeting regarding election rules and procedures for prospective and potential candidates.
September 28, 2026 - on or about, Candidate Statements for Treasurer will be available online for members to review. Ballots will be mailed to the membership so they can cast their vote.
October 8, 2026 - Second Rerun for Treasurer 2026 Candidates Forum - MCAAP, 30 West Gude Dr, Rockville, MD 20850 - 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. Candidates will be allowed to present their statement to the membership. Those who wish to attend MUST register at the link below. This includes the candidates. The maximum capacity for this event is 60 participants.
October 28, 2026 - Second Rerun for Treasurer 2026 Ballot Count - MCEA Conference Center, 12 Gude Drive, Rockville, MD 20850. The process for the ballot count for the Second Rerun for Treasurer 2026 Ballot Count begins at 9:00 AM. See Election Rules regarding observers.

Qualifications for Running for the Office of Treasurer:
Candidates for the office of Treasurer must be members of the organization in good standing for a period not less than 24 months immediately preceding their nomination.
No person who has been convicted of a felony as defined in Section 504 of the Landrum-Griffin Act (or an indictable offense in Canada) shall, in accordance with the provisions of applicable law, be eligible to hold office in the local union.
Who Can Vote?
Only members in good standing who are paying dues as of September 18, 2026, will be eligible to receive a ballot and cast a vote.
Ballots will be mailed to the home address of each eligible member.
Other Highlights:
In the event that an office is uncontested, the eligible nominee(s) for that office shall be declared elected without the need for further election procedures.
Voting shall be conducted by secret mail ballot, and the election for the office of Treasurer shall be determined by a plurality of the votes cast. Only members in good standing who are paying dues will receive a ballot. Ballots will be mailed to the home address on file of each eligible member.
TrueBallot, Inc. shall administer the election, conduct the tally of all eligible secret ballot votes cast by the membership, and certify the election results.
